Lighting:
In the first photo the light is on the left falling on the face of the subject. The light illuminates the subjects face while creating shadows along his sweatshirt and back and under his hand.
Position of the Model:
The shot was taken from a profile view of the model. He is turned to the side with his hand up mid way and exhibits a contemplative expression.
Position of the Camera/Composition:
I took the photo horizontally with the model turned to the side. The shot is fairly close up but still at a middle distance since it is from his shoulders to the top of his head.
Impact/Expression:
The model portrays a thoughtful almost inquisitive expression and the light on his face provides a rather hopeful atmosphere. Simultaneously the black background allows for contrast in the photo making it significantly more striking.
Compare and contrast:
In the first photograph the model exhibits a hopeful inquisitive expression. This significantly contrasts with the last photo at the bottom which has a darker solemn tone. The model in the last photo portrays a sad almost mopping expression which differs from the hopeful atmosphere in the top photograph where the model is looking upward as apposed to downward.

What images did you select for your double exposure?
I chose a portrait and picture of a fence I took during term one.
How do the objects relate compositionally?
The fence appears within the model's silhouette and is aligned so that the right of the
image appears slightly closer to the onlooker than the rest of the photo.
How did you manipulate and modify each image?
Both images have been turned to black and white. The picture of the fence has been set to a lower opacity and part of it has been erased.
What steps did you take to merge layers to create a unified image?
I saved the file as a JPEG which automatically merged the layers.
